Ribbon
project time: 14 weeks
Fun Fact: There was an amazing sandwich shop next door that left us quite addicted towards. After my trip from Tokyo, I was eager to find a job in a new city. Daniel Brusilovsky, Awesome Dude Extroirdinaire, helped me find a place at Ribbon. So I packed my bags, kissed and hugged my family goodbye, and found a quiet studio apartment in San Francisco, CA.
Coming in, I realized that there was alot of work to do to make this startup a success, or at the very least, see its way through a Series A. Merchants were using our product, but we needed to generate more revenue if we were to be successful.
I challenged everyone in the company to use our merchant product for something outside of work. My idea? A tipjar in which you can pay me back for whenever I cover dinner for you. This idea pivoted the company to create a peer to peer based web app that now generates over 600% more than merchant ever did. It is my proudest acheivement to date.
